Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR)

At Amrec Kenya, we believe that recovery and healing go hand in hand with building stronger, healthier communities. Our Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programs extend beyond the walls of rehabilitation to address the broader social and economic challenges that fuel addiction and mental health struggles. Through compassion-driven initiatives, we focus on restoring dignity, empowering vulnerable groups, and fostering resilience within families and communities. From long-term rehabilitation projects and food support to prisoner reintegration and women empowerment, our CSR efforts are designed to create lasting impact—transforming not only individual lives but also entire communities across Kenya.

Hope Beyond Addiction

5-Year Slum Rehabilitation Initiative: Amrec Kenya is implementing a five-year rehabilitation program targeting vulnerable individuals from Kenyan slums who are struggling with drug and alcohol abuse. The program combines detoxification, inpatient and outpatient care, counseling, life skills training, and family therapy with structured aftercare support to ensure long-term recovery and reintegration. By addressing both the medical and psychosocial needs of beneficiaries, the initiative aims to break cycles of addiction, restore dignity, and equip participants with employable skills for self-reliance. Over the five years, the program is expected to reduce relapse rates, strengthen families, and transform slum communities into healthier, more resilient environments.

Food Basket Program

Amrec Kenya runs a Food Basket Program aimed at feeding the poor and vulnerable within the community, particularly families affected by poverty, unemployment, and the impact of addiction. The initiative provides essential food supplies such as maize flour, rice, beans, cooking oil, and other nutritional items to ensure that households facing hardship can meet their basic dietary needs. Beyond addressing hunger, the program restores dignity, promotes better health, and fosters hope among struggling families, while also strengthening community solidarity by showing compassion and care for the most vulnerable members of society.

Prisoner Reintegration and Support

Specialized programs designed to help former inmates rebuild their lives with dignity and purpose after incarceration. The initiative provides holistic support including counseling, skills training, and community reintegration services, while also addressing immediate needs through the provision of food baskets and bedding to ease their transition back into society. By combining basic humanitarian assistance with psychosocial and economic empowerment, the program reduces vulnerability to relapse into crime or substance abuse, promotes social acceptance, and supports successful reintegration of former prisoners into their families and communities.

Community Recovery and Empowerment Program

Community Recovery and Empowerment Program (CREP) not only focuses on rehabilitation but also invests in education and women empowerment as pathways to lasting transformation. The program supports vulnerable children by providing school fees, books, and uniforms, ensuring they have equal opportunities to access quality education and break the cycle of poverty. At the same time, women are empowered through the strengthening of women’s groups, where they receive training, mentorship, and support for income-generating activities that promote self-reliance and family stability. By combining education support with women empowerment, the program nurtures stronger families, uplifts communities, and builds a foundation for sustainable recovery and development.
